The Clubhouse beckons, but first a tempting and potentially rewarding par 4 needs to be negotiated. Bigger hitters can reach this green from the tee but must remain cautious of the meadow rough to the right of the hole and beware of the two tiered green with a ridge running the length of the putting surface and a step down from left to right. A relatively gentle finishing hole that produces more birdies than any other on the course.

Pro's Tip

"Longer hitters can reach this green in one blow with a tee shot aimed up the left-hand side of the fairway as the ground falls down and to the right towards the green. A more modest strike along the same line will leave a short and fairly simple approach which should again make use of the natural contours of the terrain."

"Apart from the weather (a minor consideration despite the incessant rain which gradually increased towards the end of the round) this was a great day. The course was fantastic and the greens were in great condition despite the rain. The Secretary and all the staff were very accommodating to the point that coffee and biscuits were delivered to the changing room after the round – a welcome sight to 15 bedraggled golfers. The meal and setting was one of the best we have enjoyed and it was unanimously agreed to come again in the summer when good weather could be anticipated!”
